20 Best Outfits of 2020
Updated: Dec 15, 2021
Although this year has been packed with fear and uncertainty, there were a few moments in which I had the opportunity to strip from my sweat pants and slip into a pretty dress or a sparkly pair of pumps. Often for no purpose, sometimes for a fleeting picture session in my backyard, and occasionally for a socially distant function that I attended. After scrolling through these images, alternating between the weeping selfies and messy hair photos, I found a select few of my best styles throughout this crazy year; several were among my trip abroad at the start of the year in January, just before the world as we knew it came to an abrupt end.
January 1st, Dressed for "The New Middle East"

This photo was taken on the Emirates Palace Hotel's grand steps in Abu Dhabi, wearing a long Diane Von Furstenberg tiered dress complete with puffed short sleeves that also featured whimsical butterflies across the beautiful butter yellow fabric. I accessorized with mirrored Valentino aviator sunglasses that I stole from my mom, of course, as well as gold and silver beaded embellished nude Chloé flats that finished the look and added to the colorway of the outfit fit for a royal tour.
January 4th, Morraccan Chic

In the magnificent gardens of Muscat, Oman, I posed in a stunning multi-floral, Tory Burch Moroccan-inspired shift dress matched with shiny gold Tom Ford sunglasses and vibrantly colored Prada espadrilles, again borrowed from my mom's closet.
January 7th, Elle Woods Takes India

Standing in an ancient Hindu temple in Mumbai, India, I wore a bright fuchsia draped and flowing high-low midi dress with matching pink Miu Miu crystal embossed suede sandals, the same Tom Ford golden glossy mirrored sunglasses, and a blush baby pink drawstring crossbody Prada bag. My precious footwear and purse were removed to my dismay, leaving me in an incomplete outfit in the historic temple. Luckily, moments before I was ordered to drop my perfect pink shoes, I captured this shot in its fully pink glory.
January 15th, Taking in the Thai

This lovely sundress was ideal for the heat of Thailand. While I was absolutely sunburned, I stood for a photo to capture Marc Jacobs' sweetheart neck sundress's intricate floral design. Paired with this dress were pale pink Salvatore Ferragamo flats. The perfect understated yet stylish ensemble for a relaxed day in the beautiful and tropical city of Phuket.
January 18th, "Crazy Rich" in Singapore

With wide dual pockets on a midi design as well as a fit and flared silhouette, this navy-blue deep v-neck dress made by Co was a perfect pick for our packed day throughout Singapore. I combined this simple yet elegant dress with a silk multi-floral Prada espadrille wedge, which wrapped a bow around my ankle. This outfit was the best farewell to our amazing trip.
February 10th, Queen of Hearts

February is the month of love, right? The best timing for this Red Valentino short sleeve dress with a sweet ruffled trim and a collection of red hearts across the black frame. This mini dress's silk material was light and airy, comfortable and casual for just a relaxing day in Miami, Florida. I added a pair of classic Chanel red patent leather ballet flats with a cute black cap toe topped with a thin, tied bow to complement the red-themed outfit.
February 25th, Popping Pink

Ah, this photo was taken the night of the last party I've been to where there were no masks to be found, and everyone's problems were seemingly insignificant matters in their lives. This hot pink Ulla Johnson dress possesses charming elegance as it was draped in luxurious silk, with a high neckline, long flowing sleeves that fell into a pleated flared skirt. I matched this pink beauty with softer pink Miu Miu slingback heels, with a delicate line of crystals on the Mary Jane strap. The perfect dress for my last hurrah.
March 8th, Swimming in Petaled Ocean

One of my favorite garments ever from Kate Spade was this bright long, modest yet stylish dress. This stretch-knit midi was vividly colored with violet, blue, and pops of magenta, all together to create the look of the ocean with a petaled floral detail. The dress also incorporated an elastic waist for optimum ease in the most flattering way possible. The high boots, also made by Kate Spade, perfectly suited the outfit with their pastel violet hue in lush leather.
May 4th, Backyard Ball Dress

I had absolutely nowhere to go on this day, but that didn't deter me from smiling in this pretty floral fit and flare with a big full skirt, designed by Alice + Olivia; my hair is obviously up as it was not styled in weeks, and my usual Tom Ford shades were actually hiding my puffy eyes. Good outfit, bad month.
May 11th, A Gingham Drive

Hair still undone and wrapped in a cute ponytail, I snapped this side-eyed photo as we were about to go on our first car ride during the quarantine. No destination, only moving just to get out. This basic but stylish outfit consists of a rainbow gingham flared sleeve top by Kate Spade, my color coordinating pink nylon Prada crossbody, and cuffed jeans matched with similar Chanel denim stitched flats. A perfect outfit for a whole day sitting in the car!
June 7th, Yes to Yellow

Alice + Olivia's yellow shift dress was exactly what my summer wardrobe needed! I love wearing the color yellow because of its brightness and shine, which alludes to my sunny nature; this dress is simple yet elegant and super flattering! I partnered this light dress with my Prada floral espadrille wedges, and the ensemble was instantly polished from head to toe!
July 8th, Radiant in Pink and Red

There is so much to love about this vivid pink and red color-blocked sundress! Anyone who knows me understands my obsession with pink, and when I saw this design in Kate Spade's window, I knew I had to have it. Partnered with my large Louis Vuitton rainbow tote, this ensemble was the best look to lounge by the pool.
August 6th, A Twilight Fantasy

Getting dressed for the first time in what seemed like years almost felt like a dream, as was this pleated silk paisley gown by Alice + Olivia with a square neck and a fixed bow at the waist. This dress draped effortlessly with every pleated element, and the colors flourished during the sunset wedding ceremony overlooking the ocean. While unseen in this portrait, I combined this maxi dress with gold metallic Gucci platform pumps. This night was so special, and I felt so incredible finally dolling myself up after wearing sweats for weeks.
September 21st, Businesswoman Special

I'm absolutely mad for plaid! This was the ultimate transitional ensemble from summer to autumn. This outfit was complete with a shift dress and a matched blazer, all in one of my favorite prints, plaid. This coordinating Alice + Olivia suit was combined with a genuine smile for the first time in a while and freshly cut and colored hair! I also added slouchy brown boots by Tory Burch and the signature monogram crossbody purse by Louis Vuitton. This outfit screams business yet portrays a chic and trendy style as well, and once again, I'm crazy for plaid.
November 18th, Color Blocked Bliss

I'm pretty sure I have expressed my passion for color blocking on here already, right? If not, I LOVE COLOR BLOCKING. Pink and orange are my signature colors, and this Alice + Olivia wrapped coat screams my personality and style so precisely. The best part? It's reversible! One day pink, the next orange. Paired with Michael Kors' brown suede high heel boots and Louis Vuitton's twist-lock crossbody, this outfit left me feeling colored in chicness.
November 26th, Nap Dress Holiday

An unusual thanksgiving this year indeed, though a bright aspect of this day was wearing the gold jacquard babydoll Nap Dress. Comfortable smocking and a flared mini skirt including short puffed sleeves, this golden glorious dress was the perfect choice for our intimate holiday dinner. To add to this elegant look, I put on my newest coveted pair of bow-adorned Chanel pointed toe heels and then quickly changed to cozy flats.
December 6th, Pearls on Pearls

This entirely Kate Spade outfit was complete with one of my beloved fabrics, tweed! This mini skirt was constructed of lush black, and white tweed dotted with pearl buttons. The ruffled mock neck pink sweater also incorporated a ring of three pearls on the cuffs, as well as pops of shimmer woven into the sweater, rendering this ensemble completely adorned with exquisite bits of precious gems.
December 23rd, Rainbow in the Snow

The first snow of the year was the perfect excuse to suit up for a photo under the snowy setting. Many people choose to wear dark clothing throughout the colder seasons, but I'm the opposite! I use it as an opportunity to bring more color, fun, and brightness to my ensemble! Love Shack Fancy's rainbow-colored ruffled knit was exactly what my vibrant and fashionable wardrobe needed. I added more matching colors by combining J.crew's classic midi accordion-pleated leather skirt and burgundy boots Tory Burch.
December 27th, Beads on Plaid

Embellished cardigans are somewhat of my signature style! I enjoy wearing anything embroidered and decorated with beads, sequins, gems, or crystals, and of course, you already know my affinity for color-blocking. This black and white jeweled cardigan by Tory Burch was so desired the second I saw it! I uniquely styled the sweater with the Houndstooth plaid mini skirt made by the same brand and the famously trendy, lug sole-designed booties by Louis Vuitton. The best part? The beautiful museum-esque living room in the background of this photo.
December 30th, Crysals on Cardigans

As I've mentioned, I adore any form of embroidery, and since Taylor Swift declared 2020 the year of the cardigan, I brought my own variation to this essential sweater (everyone should own) and found cardigans coated with decoration! This crystal sparkling embossed white and black cardigan detailing a bow motif was beautifully paired with a black Kate Spade crepe mini skirt and white block heel Mary Jane Miu Miu pumps, boasting a lovely pearl on the strap as well as a black cap toe design. This was the perfect look for the end of the year, and I believe Blair Waldorf would approve of the preppiness this outfit displays!
