40 fabulous frocks: the duchess of cambridge:
Updated: Feb 26, 2022

To celebrate the Duchess of Cambridge's milestone birthday this week, I decided to revisit some of her most memorable dresses over the last decade. I'll take any excuse to talk about royal fashion, so in honor of Kate's 40th, check out my selection of all the fabulous frocks she's worn so far throughout her reign.
regal reds:

The Duchess of Cambridge's latest photoshoot reveals her looking lovely in a crimson Alexander McQueen one-shoulder dress. From that first red Luisa Spagnoli suit worn as a princess to be to last December (while displaying some unexpected musical skills too!) donning a scarlet coat-dress designed by Catherine Walker, Kate has been rocking this color for a while!
princess in pink

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a pleated pink Emilia Wickstead dress to the spring 2012 garden party, one of her first of many stylish statements in the color! Kate sure knows how to be the best-dressed wedding guest! In 2017, she looked exquisite at her sister Pippa's ceremony in an Alexander McQueen silk pale pink midi, and in 2018, she chose another Alexander McQueen number in a bolder shade of pink to the wedding of Princess Eugenie. My favorite and the simplest pink outfit of them all, though, was a belted shirtdress by ME+EM worn in the spring of 2021 to fulfill a dream of a little girl with leukemia that wished to meet the princess dressed in pink.
"Hopefully, Mila, we'll get to meet and then I'll remember to wear my pink dress for you."
modest moments:

Since entering the spotlight, Kate has become an instant style icon; however, she also emerged as a powerful role model for modest dressing and inspiration for modesty overall! I wish I could peruse her modest midi collection! My favorites come in all sorts of colors, patterns, and silhouettes. See more below!
glistening gowns:

The Duchess of Cambridge has one of the most enviable wardrobes I've ever seen, packed with a ton of exquisite evening dresses! When it comes to formalwear, Kate never disappoints. She's either gracefully donning a Cinderella-esque ballgown or turning heads in Hollywood glamour. Once I saw Kate's bridal couture masterpiece designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen at her 2011 royal wedding, it was safe to assume that wouldn't be the last time she would make a massive fashion statement in an elegant gown. Since her wedding, the Duchess of Cambridge continued to draw attention in spectacular evening attire, and the fact that so many of my favorites are Alexander McQueen creations is no surprise!
Happy 40th birthday to the Duchess of Cambridge! I know we can expect to see a lot more glitzy garments from Kate as she continues to grow in her roles and duties as a duchess, wife, mother, and, one day, Queen!
