emmys 2021 dress obsessions

It should come as no surprise that my best-dressed picks at the Emmys 2021 comprise of many bright colors and princess ballgowns. There is definitely some pink (of course!), green, and the tried and true classic black and whites! Take a look at my Emmys best-dressed rundown below and swoon in all the couture with me!

Anya Taylor-Joy in Dior Haute Couture

This sleek gown with its spectacular yellow silk faille shawl was such a memorable look (I know it's only been less than a week!) Her platinum blonde locks matched the shades of the soft yellow silk custom gown and shawl to perfection. I know the magnificent Tiffany & Co Jewels fit exquisitely well with the dress and even elevated the extravagant look, but I was actually drawn to her elegant updo, which was straight out of Audrey Hepburn's style handbook. She may not have won the Emmy, but she clearly won the red carpet.

Take a closer look at the incredible dress conception and vision for the fabulous gown and shawl:

Yara Shahidi in Dior Haute Couture

Glowing in green! This was one of my favorite dresses of the night! I loved how the young actress made a statement of elegance by wearing a beautiful and refined dress rather than the more sexy and revealing looks that most girls her age wear. The vintage-inspired dress had an off-the-shoulder neckline, belted at the waist, and flowed into a midi silhouette perfect for her charming red carper twirls. She accessorized the lime green dress with a heavy gold necklace and earrings and nude pumps, though once more, I'm taken to the sleek and stylish bun that brought all the attention to the magnificent Kelly green dress that served both a mature and youthful look for the star.

Hannah Einbinder in Prada

The Hacks nominee graced the red carpet in this pastel pink jacquard gown. The dress boasted a large bustle bow detail at the back and fell into a long train, and displayed a dainty floral design. The dress was paired with delicate Fernando Jorge earrings that added some sparkle to the look. In my opinion, too much jewelry and accessories take the focus away from the gorgeous gown, so these subtle diamond earrings were all the dress needed. Her hair and makeup were kept minimalistic and matched the pale pink hue of her dress perfectly and the aesthetic of the entire look.

See how the star gets glammed up for the evening in her selection of gems, makeup, and accessories:

Sophia Bush in Markarian

What a surprise! My next pick is yet another pink dress! This gown was one of the only ones from the night that I could actually see myself wearing. Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely crazy about the dress, though it is not a haute couture garment and is, in fact, somewhat accessible to us mere mortals! A modest NYC label, Markarian designed the lovely pale pink dress that sported short capped sleeves, a fitted bodice, and a flowing long and full skirt. The ensemble included a red velvet clutch with a crystal bow clasp and a sparkling diamond choker. This look combined a refined style with a glamorous flair and flawlessly fit the gown's feminine aesthetic.

Emerald Fennell in Valentino

If you've been following me for a while, you know I love a modest moment on the red carpet! This Valentino gown had me swooning over the bedazzled intricacy and multicolored embroidery. The delicate micro beads and sequins made the dress one-of-a-kind and served trendy high-fashion couture. The high bun was the ideal hairstyle for the busy dress, and the vibrant lip color introduced some edge for the Emmy nominee. Her stylish chartreuse fringe clutch aligned with the hem of the dress and sleeves, which I thought was such an excellent style detail. I can only imagine wearing this bejeweled gown with its beautiful touch of modesty!

Mindy Kaling in Carolina Herrera

Mindy absolutely nailed the red carpet in this sophisticated black gown with a massive bow at the waist. The glamorous gown was combined with a magnificent diamond necklace and earrings. Her long hair was done in loose curls, which also complimented the dress. She undoubtedly decided to embrace the black-tie theme! This look exuded timeless beauty, and you already know how much I adore just about every outfit with a bow detail! Anytime there's a classic black gown featuring a large bow and lots of diamonds, I'm instantly sold!

Elizabeth Olsen in The Row

Elizabeth's sisters Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen founded The Row, a high-end fashion brand, if you didn't already know, and they custom made the dress specifically for their sister! Elizabeth looked like a genuine goddess in this white minimalistic v-neck gown. Her hair and makeup were kept simple as well to attract attention to those mesmerizing chandelier diamond earrings from Chopard's Haute Joaillerie Collection. This entire display of serene beauty is unquestionably going to be remembered in fashion history!

Jurnee Smollett in Dior Haute Couture

To say I'm obsessed would be an understatement! This isn't a style I'm used to seeing from the actress; she loves wearing trendy and playful outfits, but for her Emmy nomination this year, she made a statement on the red carpet in this layered Dior Haute Couture Fall 2020 Collection gown fit for a princess. With the contrast of a bold dark lip and shiny eyeshadow, her makeup gave a touch of sharpness to the light and soft look of the fringed gown. Her hair, styled in a twisted high updo, brought all eyes to the beautiful dress and exquisite Bulgari jewels. This was undeniably a red carpet fashion moment I'll never forget!
